My Story

My story starts when I was 15 years old. I was scrolling through Tumblr and saw some people I followed creating websites. I decided to create my web page with Wix. I loved using all those trashy 90’s glittery and flashy gifs( i know better now) but I found it so fun and exciting to create something from the ground up and be creative in the digital space.

I currently work at Sealed Air, a company which helps companies with their packaging solutions. My current role at the company is Inventory Lead, Artwork and Procurement Specialist. My day-to-day roles consist of analysing data, sourcing the best products for our production teams and creating and modifying design work for clients.

When the pandemic hit, I decided to take my love of building websites to the next level and took up a course with CodeCademy to learn Front End languages.

After 2 years of studying coding. HMTL, CSS & Javascript to be precise. I decided to apply for jobs. After a failed attempt at an interview, I was overwhelmed with the thought that maybe this wasn’t the right path for me. I yearned for more of the design aspect, true to something I knew came naturally to me.

I started reading about UI designers and UX designers. This was something that I had never heard before. So I dug a little deeper. I was blown away by how interesting UX design was. I love the idea of actually solving website and app problems by simply just asking the best people possible… the user. It’s putting people at the forefront and I’m all here for it!

In June 2022, I decided to start learning part-time with Love Circular and their community, whilst also working in my current full-time role. Love Circular has not only helped me sharpen my knowledge of UX and UI, but they have also given me opportunities to learn from experienced designers and career advisors. I feel fully supported by this company. It’s good to know you have people rooting for you within the industry.

Currently, I am working on my case studies to build up my portfolio and gain as much experience as I can. I also have been included in weekly design review meetings with the UX team within Sealed Air to gain as much inside working knowledge as possible.
